A boy who dreamed of becoming The Eminence in Shadow meets an untimely death and is reborn in another world as Cid Kagenou.

In his new world, Cid has decided to enjoy his Eminence in Shadow shtick, playing the role of Shadow--he who lurks in the shadows in order to hunt the shadows--and with the girls who faithfully play along, he builds Shadow Garden, an organization that fights against a dark cult.

All of this is the product of his fantasies...or so he thought. But the evil Cult of Diablos does, in fact, exist, and though Cid doesn't know it, Shadow Garden carries on the fight against this darkness of the world.

The story now takes us to the Lawless City, with its three rulers: The Blood Queen, the Spirit Fox, and the Tyrant. It's survival of the fittest in this metropolis overrun with ne'er-do-wells.

Cid is dragged here by his sister Claire, who has come to defeat the Blood Queen of the vampires, and his heart thrills at this unique opportunity to show off his Eminence in Shadow moves, but....

A plot centering around the Blood Queen is set in motion, and the three rulers of Lawless City come together in battle. Claire gets caught up in the fray, and Shadow Garden has its own business in Lawless City. Amid the extreme chaos, Cid decides to work behind the scenes as Shadow.

The Red Moon is rising. The hour of awakening is near!
