During the parent-student day at school, Mai’s teacher told Mai’s mother “It seems like your daughter is using the inherited magic to solve various problems around her.”

Mai’s mother does not understand what the teacher is talking about. What magic? The question is left unanswered and days pass. In a few more days, she is going to give birth to her third child.

With her mother in the hospital, Mai is lonely and throws a fit. The older brother, Hikaru, struggles in dealing with fluctuation of emotions during his sensitive time of boyhood. Hotaru, their grandmother and the most popular family member, is the strongest supporter of Hikaru. Mamoru, the father of the family, is busy with daily work but tries to create time for his son and daughter.
